Combatallia

Created for the 2026 Romantasy TTRPG Jam

It's the most special time of the year in the realm, Combatallia, a festival of tradition and love taken part in by all to celebrate the bonds we share.

The primary event of Combatallia is the Battle of Rings, a duelling tournament between prospective lovers. Many participants enter the Battle of Rings already having agreed to be wed and use the tourney as a way to show their devotion to one another.

Will you become engaged to the one who holds your heart like a vice, or will you be crushed by the competition?

Combatallia is a short game to be played by any number of players, with or without a GM. Players may compete against one another, and can attempt to pursue one another, but are under no obligation to do either. 

Fights are resolved one-on-one, should not take more than fifteen minutes a piece, and entire tourneys can be finished in an evening.
